April 04, 2003 review of Danny Wright's CD Healer of Hearts (Real Music) by Wayne Lee Gay, viewable in its entirety at www.dfw.com.
Fort Worth pianist Danny Wright's impeccable pianism and ear for gorgeous sonorities are well-evident in this generous two-disc set. Twelve arrangements, from Send in the Clowns to Pachelbel's Canon, and 13 original compositions (largely mood music such as October and Daydreams) make for almost 90 minutes of old-fashioned seduction music. Flutist Joseph Vincelli adds a pleasant shade of color to several of the arrangements. No storms or sorrow here: As the title suggests, it's all sweet, serene and pretty.
